The
Cerebral Palsy Outreach Network is an
Internet resource for children with
cerebral palsy (CP) and their families.
The mission of CPON (pronounced C-PON)
is to
•
help families connect to needed services
• provide scientific information to
families on new treaments for CP
• develop research on the causes and
management of CP
• link families experiencing CP in our
area and provide a way for them to support each other
With funding from the United Cerebral
Palsy Research and Education Foundation, the Cerebral Palsy Outreach
Network, located at Michigan State University, is creating a computer
information service for families affected by CP in central Michigan.
CPON will provide free internet service to families who sign up to be part of the project. Our web site
will also provide families with the most accurate and up-to-date medical
and clinical information and will provide links to available services
and resources. We will also try to provide information to help families
sort through the many Web sites and groups that deal with cerebral
palsy. For more information

Intervention services often begin in the first year of life,
as soon as developmental delays are detected, and even
before a diagnosis of CP.
CFCS Communication Function
